When you look at the compete season last Winter as a whole, you could make the argument that Haevyn Ranschau was one of the most clutch prospects of the year. Not because she hit big shots when the buzzer was draining down but because she produced so much on each side of the ball, every contest of the season. Rock Valley ended up winning their 2A State Title and they wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for Heavyn. She controlled the floor, held tempo with the ball in her possession, and she made a bunch of shots from the outside at some pretty impressive distances. I don’t know much but I know that Northwestern got a STEAL with the Ranschau sisters. If this Winter was only the tip of the iceberg, they are going to be a D1 court before you know it.

Haevyn was named the 2A All Tournament Team Captain at the end of the week. She was a prospect that shoot the leather off of the ball, she made plays as a creator off of the dribble, she was steady as a rebounding threat, and she defended in big moments down the stretch. We have seen some impressive showings out of H.R. this Winter on more than one occasion. She demonstrated this week that her shooting ability is truly next level and when she can play off of that offensively, she is almost impossible to contain. I said it the other day, Northwestern (IA) got a STEAL with the Ranschau twins. They are going to be fantastic at that level this upcoming Winter.

One of the best shooters this past week was Haevyn Racnschau of Rock Valley High School. We are used to Haevyn letting the ball fly from deep and we are used to her making it a lot. This week was no different. Haevyn even knocked down 6 three pointers in the first half of their team’s 2A Championship game. That just speaks to what she can do from deep when she has some decent screening action and a great game plan as a whole as a team. Northwestern CC got a STEAL in the Ranschau twins. They are going to set the CC world on storm next Winter as Freshman. From there, who knows where they will take things.

I love the overall play-style that

competes with when she takes the floor. She demonstrated from start to finish in this contest that she is a three level scoring threat offensively and she has an act for getting her hands on the ball on the defensive side of things as well. From the start, Ranschau was hitting three’s from deep. Once she made a few of those and the defense starting to over-play her shot, she moved right by everyone off the dribble for simple finishes at the rim off the attack once she got downhill. She also did a great job of being a distributor, slasher, and producer with her movement when she didn’t have possession of the rock. When everything was said and done, Haevyn definitely showed out as her team’s most complete prospect in this battle. It was a close one down to the end and this is possibly a preview for a State matchup down the road if both programs play their cards rights.

was a massive impact player for Rock Valley tonight from the starting tip through crunch time. She got things started early with a tough hesitation + scoop finish in transition, and carried her momentum to the three point arc the rest of the night. Finishing the game with at least five made threes (I might have missed a sixth), Haevyn showed elite footwork while getting set to shoot. Her quick trigger wasn’t affected by defenders either — if you’re not blocking her shot, you’re just not close enough. I loved her reads behind screens as well as her relocation on defenders’ drives. She knows how to create her own shot within the flow of the offense, made good decisions, and showed an ability to finish through contact on multiple occasions (including a sweet euro-step in transition).

I have been the PGH Lead scout in Iowa for 4 seasons now and I don’t think I have ever seen anyone make more than 9 three pointers in one contest until

beat that number last week. Ranschau has always been considered a college level prospect because of her shooting ability and that was on full display a few days ago. She finished off her contest with 11 three point MAKES from the field, giving her over 33+ points on the game. Not to mention, her twin sister made about 9 three pointers from the field to add onto that, giving the total between both twins at 20 makes within one game. As you can tell by the numbers, these girls really can shoot and wherever they end up for college, that program is going to be VERY excited about the future possibilities with these two.

will have one more season with Rock Valley before taking her talents to the next level. Ranschau has been considered one of the best shooters in the state of Iowa for years now. She is coordinated with her footwork and balance coming off screens or movement, which helps her catch within rhythm for effortless attempts from deep. She can also pull up off the dribble when given a small window of space and time, which is pretty impressive. The past three years Ranschau has put up noteworthy numbers and I don’t expect that to change over the next few months. Rock Valley will be a tough team to beat this Winter in general. They have elite guard play and serviceable Post players down low so they just need to work together and the rest will play itself out perfectly.

. Haevyn is another player that I would consider at high volume, high efficiency shooter from deep. She tends to play off of the ball a little bit more and launch it a little bit quicker but in general, these two sisters have some similarities to their play styles. I would say that Hudsyn is more likely to put it on the ground but Haevyn is good enough to do the same if pressured. Like I said, at a smaller school like Rock Valley, these two should EAT. They are both walking buckets so if they play with full confidence that they are going to kill it, they could be one of the highest scoring duo’s in the state together.

put together a rememberable weekend with how well she shot the basketball from deep. Whenever you bring up Haevyn, you are usually speaking about how well she can shoot the basketball from deep and that was on full display these past couple of days. In one contest specifically, she ended with six made 3-pointers, while also recording a handful of rebounds and steals on the defensive side of the ball. When I first had the chance to see Haevyn compete, she demonstrated that she could shoot the leather off of the ball from any distance and that hasn’t changed one bit over the past two years. She is shooting at high rate with a lot of confidence right now, while also displaying that she is an able rebounder and someone that can put the ball on the ground if the defense over-plays her. She is playing some great ball at the moment and it’s only going to get better if she stays confident in her abilities.

Another fantastic Shooting Guard and someone that happens to be the twin sister of Hudsyn Ranschau is Haevyn Ranschau. Haevyn is the spitting imagine of her sister. She can obviously shoot the cover off of the basketball at an Elite rate, while she is still putting her complete game together but she also is very good at communicating with those around her and listening to the instruction of her coaches. She demostrates a quick first step and active hands, usually leading to a lot of success in one way or another for her team. This upcoming high school season, the Ranschau sisters are going to be two prospects that will be tasked with taking over their Varsity program. This opportunity is one that I’m sure they are ready for and they will excel at in the long run but until that times comes, they will keep ballin out for this ETG Midwest squad. Something I’m sure they are both ecstatic about moving forward.
