About Cecily

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a versatile wing, who plays and guards multiple positions. When it comes to play-making, I always want to make the high-IQ play for my team. I've worked hard on my shooting touch, setting a school record for 3FG% last season (46.7%). I also play through contact to score at all levels. Defensively, I've gained a lot of confidence with causing turnovers and protecting the rim without fouling.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I think of myself as a grinder, who has embraced the journey of improving in the game. This past season (2024-25), I became a full-time starter on varsity at Saint Ursula Academy (Cincinnati), which was a big adjustment from coming off the bench and playing JV as a freshman. I embraced that challenge and ended up 1st Team All-GGCL and 3rd Team All Southwest District.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I'm involved at church, serving as a eucharistic minister at masses. I also love being a part of a campaign and club at St. Ursula chartered to share kindness and positivity with fellow students.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I think of myself as a leader, and I want to lead by example through my actions. I love basketball because of its teamwork. Everyone has to play well together for the team to succeed, but figuring out how to make all of that work is a very fun challenge. When I'm not playing basketball, I volunteer through my school and church.
