Every season at the State Tournament we see a handful of prospects hooping that are going to excel at the next level in another sport like Track, Soccer, or Volleyball. This season one of those players was CG – Channing Johnson Channing Johnson 5'11" | CG Denver | 2026 IA . Johnson was a lethal 5’11 Guard for the Cyclones all Winter long. Her endurance, soft touch on the ball, length, and athletic ability was superior to most that she came up against. I understand why Johnson will be running track at D2 – Wayne State. She out paces everyone on the hardwood and she is only going to get more athletic as she gets into her physical prime over the next 2-3 years. That’s why she kills it in high school athletics and that’s why she is going to continue to kill it at the next level after putting together a heck of a high school career.
