Charlee, a post player for Grand Rapids Thunder , brought toughness and physicality to the floor during Saturday morning action at the PGH MI State Tournament. She competed hard inside throughout the game, battling on the glass and consistently working for rebounds in traffic. Defensively, the post player made her presence felt around the rim with several blocked shots and strong interior defense. On the offensive end, her aggressive play in the paint helped her earn multiple trips to the free throw line as she fought through contact and stayed active around the basket. Her effort level and willingness to do the dirty work stood out all morning.

Charlee had a productive freshman campaign at Saugatuck, posting 223 rebounds and 163 points. She’s physical in the paint, cleans up around the glass, and works hard to defend in the post. Charlee has good passing instincts and seals off defenders to get high percentage looks at the front of the rim. She’ll be playing up with Grand Rapids Thunder 17U and is a 6-footer I’m expecting to make an impact during the PGH MI College Tour at Northwood.

Charlee is a strong forward who looks ready to have a breakout freshman year at Saugatuck. She has a great touch on her passes and looks to set up teammates. Charlee worked hard to secure rebounds and gave teammates a target by gaining the advantage in the post with her seals. She finished well around the basket and had a solid day for Team Liberty at the Headliners Invitational. Her length and physicality are going to be a matchup problem at the high school level.

It became clear during the PGH Freshman Showcase that Charlee is going to be an immediate impact player for Saugatuck as a freshman. She’s already capable of mixing it up inside with a strong and physical foundation. Charlee finishes well around the basket and is very effective as a rebounder. She’s going to give the upper classmen all they can handle at the Headliners Invitational on Sunday.

Charlee had a very productive day for Team 3 at the Freshman Showcase. Charlee was a difference maker in the paint as a rebounder. She limited second-chance opportunities for the other team by securing boards on the defensive end and created extra scoring chances by pursuing offensive rebounds. Charlee caught a pass inside with soft hands and finished the layup off two feet. She works hard on the court and looks ready to be an immediate impact forward for Saugatuck this winter.

Charlee is a versatile and skilled player who can impact the game in a variety of ways. She’s comfortable scoring with her back to the basket, can stretch the floor with a reliable three-point shot, and has the ball-handling ability to create off the dribble. Her all-around game makes her a tough matchup and a valuable asset on the floor. We’d love to see what she can do at the PGH Freshman Showcase.
