About Cheyanne

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a versatile shooting guard known for good floor vision and aggressive defense. I have strong handles and score in multiple ways, whether it's driving to the basket, shooting mid-range, or shooting from deep. My sophomore year, I led the Fairmont Senior Varsity in three-pointers and free throw percentage.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

It takes work! Chey is training in-season and out. Coaches have praised Chey, saying she is willing to do the things no one else wants to do.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I love volunteering as a referee for Special Olympics and SteppingStones (a recreation center for people with disabilities) basketball programs.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Chey is a quiet leader, leading by example. She is always hyping up her teammates from the floor or the bench.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’ve faced challenges that tested my patience and determination. Transferring to a bigger program meant starting fresh, and an eligibility setback kept me off the court at first. I stayed focused through the appeals process and was eventually cleared to play. That experience taught me to keep working, stay positive, and never lose sight of the game I love.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a smaller school. Even though I am known to be a home body, I am willing to explore new places!
