Watching Chloe with her NJ Demons team showed me another side of her game. With Rutgers Prep she plays more off the ball spotting up as all-everything guard Mikayla Blakes Mikayla Blakes 5'8" | SG Rutgers Prep | 2024 State NJ runs the show. In Louisville, Chloe showed the full range of her offensive game. She was in control of the offense calling out and getting her team into sets. Should showed good skills off the bounce, getting into the lane and finishing with both hands. She takes good angles on her attack and truly led her team to a comeback from being down double digits while I was watching. She still flashed the 3-point range she’s known for at Rutgers Prep on several occasions. Defensively, Chloe was aggressive on the ball and created several turnovers that led to either easy layups for her or her teammates by keeping her head up in transition and distributing the ball. After seeing this offensive versatility, I can see Chloe being part of the solution to replace Katie Ledden and the 400+ points she scored last season.

Chloe did it all this weekend! She scored it at a furious pace, crashed the glass with authority, facilitated & created for others and picked pockets time and time again on defense. Her size gave opponents match-up problems as she took advantage of smaller guards and had the bigs stumbling trying to keep up with her in and around the paint. On Saturday alone she tallied a combined 40 points against NY Grit and Delco Goats, two very good teams known for their stifling defense and ball pressure. Just as good as Chloe was creating for herself, she was even better seeing the floor and putting her teammates in position to score. Her court vision was on full display as she distributed the ball around the floor and attacked the defense with a drive and kick to the perimeter. It’s becoming a reoccurring theme this summer that anytime the NJ Demons participate in an event, Chloe ends up as one of weekend’s brightest stars.

Crafty handles, spin moves, reverse layups… Chloe had the full arsenal on display this weekend at The Rose Classic! She led her Demons 17U squad to success averaging 15 points per game while playing relentless, aggressive basketball. Shockingly fast, Chloe was the quickest on the court in every game played. On fast breaks, she floated down the court ahead of the pack with no chance of being caught. She was efficient off the dribble and used shifty shake-and-bake handles to stagger defenders and create space. Her outside game was clicking on all cylinders as she consistently drained them from deep all while being tightly guarded. She rolled off screens effectively and successfully evaded double teams and traps with her quickness and stellar footwork. Defensively, she was a menace. Her on-ball defense was scrappy, smothering and stifling. Chloe displayed her brilliant two-way game all weekend long.
