Ford is another familiar name to the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit. When we wrote about forces in the frontcourt from the first day of the Southeast Kickoff in North Carolina, Ford was among those notable names. Ford can give a team minutes in the frontcourt at the three but can also find time as a wing considering her prowess as a shooting guard. She gives representation to 6A Lee on this year’s Alabama Dream 15U roster. Defensive playmaking is especially a strength of Ford’s. Standing at 5-foot-9 can also give her a height advantage over many of her peer two guards when she has the ball behind the 3-point arc. 

Alabama Dream ‘s Christiana Ford Christiana Ford 5'9" | /SG Lee high school | 2029 AL proved to be a hard worker on both sides of the ball but I was impressed mostly by her defense. Ford is a sneaky defender and seems to come out of nowhere to hunt down the ball. At 5’9″ she plays in the front court but can also connect behind the arc. Ford finishes well at the rim on the left and right. She’s an asset to her team.

Ford’s Alabama Dream 15U team was another that concluded Southeast Kickoff weekend with a pair of wins and a pair of losses. She particularly thrives in the transition game as she knows to get near the rim when her team has an opportunity at an easy two-bucket. Defense is another element to her game where Ford shines. When Ford manages to connect from long range, that is when teams remember that she can operate as a shooting guard in addition to playing in the frontcourt as a three. Ford stands at 5-foot-9 and is the lone representative from 7A Lee on this year’s Alabama Dream 15U group. 

Alabama Dream 15U’s first matchup of Southeast Kickoff Saturday did not occur until late in the afternoon. It was well worth the wait as the assembling from the Yellowhammer State blew out Carolina All-Stars 15U BSB. Ford was key in the offensive onslaught as her ability to attack the rim and make plays in transition made things difficult for the North Carolina squad. Ford can give a team worthwhile minutes as either a two guard or a three forward, meaning she can find plenty of time at the wing. Ford was the only freshman on this past season’s 6A Lee team.
