Williams showed her ability to shoot the ball early, knocking down a midrange jumper followed by a three-pointer. She controlled the tempo throughout the game, pushing the pace when she had numbers and slowing things down when she didn’t. As North picked up the pace in the second quarter, Williams did a great job staying active, coming up with steals and finding teammates for easy layups. Early in the third quarter, she attacked downhill and finished at the rim for another easy bucket.

Williams is the No. 1-ranked athlete in the Kansas Class of 2028. She had a chunky freshman stat line that included 9.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and four assists per game. She is an excellent passer with solid court vision. If she played hockey, they would call her a “200-foot” forward. She can play on both ends of the court, as she finished with two steals per game as a freshman.

to concentrate on filling up the bucket. She leverages her strong frame and ball skills to work over smaller defenders, gets down the floor with purpose and makes good decisions defensively. Expect the Sunflower League third team selection to garner substantially more attention statewide next season.

Williams gave everybody a scare when she landed wrong on a late second quarter drive. She did return for the Eagles’ semi-final game. Until that point, she was just flat tough on both ends. She ran the team with maturity, freeing all-stater

to go to town in the scoring department in Olathe North’s 6A state quarterfinal win over rival Olathe South. Using her solid frame and strong handles she worked over opposing guards trying to defender alone when she drove. Her stat line – 2 points, 4 turnovers, 2 steals – did not reflect her impact on both ends of the floor. She convinced me that she is one of the top 5 2028 point guards in the state regardless of classification.

The starter for the Eagles is averaging 11.6 points, including 69% from the line, and 5 assists in the early going with a 1.67 assists-to-turnovers ratio. Williams is also pulling down 4 rebounds and handing out 1.6 assists. She has transition speed with the ball and finishing ability against challengers at speed. Her build is imposing as she is not a player defenders will be happy to draw a charge from.
