About Dawn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe it as fast and quick thinking, being able to think fast on a ball ahead. Talking a lot of talking if you don’t talk with your team the chemistry won’t work.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is a next play mentality I’ve learned to train my emotions to not get in my head while in a game I think about it all after and analyze what I can do better doing forward, I like to think of myself as a bubbly extrovert I’m not scared to say things that may need to be said and I’m also there to hype my teammates up bring a good vibe and keep the game fun!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes I have, I’ve received academic rewards and in my early middle school years received many track awards for running but I’ve strayed away from track due to my love of basketball.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I think I have amazing qualities I’m always open to learn at first I didn’t understand what it meant to have work ethic or the term “work for it if you want it” I definitely understand it now, when you work for what you want the achievement and strive is greater and more celebrated.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I’ve faced challenges I’ve always been one of the younger people amongst the teams I play for, I really do think that I’ve gotten through it by being assertive and acting more mature, not to fit in just to be able to understand at that level of basketball

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for an hbcu however I’m open to many different options being I’m class of 29 I haven’t thought of a certain one yet I’m just look for offers and the best one will be for me

The Swamp Foxes of 5A Ashley Ridge are well-represented throughout the Mosch Ball organization. She is one of two from the Swamp Foxes on Mosch Ball 17U and one of two 2029s that are playing up in class against more experienced competition. At 5-foot-11, one can expect West to be a featured big in the coming years. West is a multi-sport athlete who also plays volleyball in addition to her basketball achievements. Opposing teams especially have to game plan for West as a defender as she is very likely to reject many a shot. A team can place West in their five-woman lineup either as a traditional big or at the four. Rebounding is another one of West’s strong points.
