The lefty hit the game-winner in the lane against Heritage-Catoosa. Dumas looks ready for a breakout season. She’s got great size on the perimeter but more importantly, a rapidly expanding game. Desirae plays with speed and fluidity, catching the ball and immediately looking to make things happen. She uses ball fakes and a has quick first step to get to the rim. She scores through contact, kicks to open shooters and is effective when spacing the floor herself.

Desirae Dumas Desirae Dumas 5'10" | SF/PG State GA had a nice drive to the basket showing off her spin cycle losing her opponent and finishing at the rim.  She hustled up the court looking for passes in transition, and she did well using her length to deflect the ball on defense or save loose possessions with her hustle.  She knew when to pull up for the jumper or take it all the way to the rim.

The lefty wing helped loosen up the Redline zone, hitting a pair of threes off the bench. Dumas went for 14 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 block. With her size on the perimeter, Dumas is an effective defender both inside and out. Her offensive game was impressive, not only with her outside shooting but her skill in transition, going coast-to-coast to finish with spin moves.

Southpaw capable of playing all over the floor. Effective three-point shooter off the catch. Finishes coast-to-coast with both hands. Averaging 11.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 2.2 steals.

Regardless of the level of basketball, every team has those players that are more than capable of stepping up and becoming one of the primary options. Dumas displayed that clutch playmaking ability and then some for a Macon Mystics 2028 group that went 3-1 and played in the 15U championship game. Prior to that, her team was matched up against a Carolina All-Stars 15U E40 team that nearly put the central Georgia group in the loss column on Saturday. The 10 points tallied by Dumas put Macon Mystics 2028 in position to stave off that stiff challenge. Her versatility enables her to play at a variety of spots on the court and she has no issues drawing contact to find her way to the free throw line. She scored seven in the 15U championship game against Now Elite 15U. 

Another name we vividly remember from Peach Games, she stood out when Macon Mystics 2028 matched up against a tough Carolina All-Stars 15U E40 team. Even in the first quarter when it appeared the Hoop State-based team had the edge over the Georgia team, her 10 points kept her team in striking distance and put them in a position to win. Her bread and butter is making plays in the interior – and in the frontcourt as a whole as either a three, a four or a five. All 10 points she had against Carolina All-Stars occurred in the first half of play. She is listed at 5-foot-10 and is a player to watch for Jones County. 

Dumas saw playing time in 28 games for a 4A Jones County team that concluded the 2024-25 campaign with a stellar 27-2 record. That has translated into Dumas providing stellar play on the grassroots circuit with Macon Mystics 15U. Her team delivered a rout of Team Unleashed South Carolina with the final score being 65-29. She scored nine points and – in a show of consistency – those points were almost evenly distributed between the first and second halves. At 5-foot-10, Dumas displayed that she will be a name opposing teams will have to game plan for in the interior. She can provide valuable minutes for a team at either the three, four or five.
