Oakland just offered the versatile combo-forward. Transferring in from Wesleyan, Davis gives Newton a legitimate go-to player that can create mismatches inside and out. She is strong enough to score on the block, converting putbacks and finishing through contact with post moves. Desiree is also skilled enough to create off the dribble with drives and able to knock down perimeter jumpers.

In from Wesleyan, Desiree Davis Desiree Davis Desiree Davis 5'11" | SF/PF Newton | 2025 State GA provides Newton with a matchup nightmare. Desi has the strength to bully opponents on the block and the skill to create on the perimeter. Davis can shoot the three, but is at her best when getting to the rack using deft footwork and a soft touch. When needed, Davis can set the tone inside as a rugged rebounder. Expect a breakout season and for Newton to blow past their three-win mark and contend for a state playoff bid.

Desi Davis was a mismatch. Equipped with combo-forward capabilities, Davis attacked both in the paint and on the perimeter. She used her strong frame to get on the glass and score through traffic inside. Davis could burst through traps on the perimeter, showcase her ball handling skills and get downhill. Desi has a soft touch from the perimeter. Her motor and nose for the ball were impressive.
