Jones was just too much to handle down low. She knew her strength and athleticism could not be matched and she took full advantage of the fact. Jones pulled down a ton of offensive rebounds that led to a put back bucket through contact or a trip to the line where she made a living all game long. Jones finished the game with 21 points, 15 rebounds and went 7/10 from the free throw line.

Another player that dominates around the basket, Jones is one of two players on this entire list that actually averaged a double-double last season. She is so good around the basket and was a huge reason her team made it all the way to the 7th Region Championship game. She put up some crazy numbers all season long and should have a big summer as well.

and JaLa Douglas also average double figure points for the Yellow Jackets and play critical roles. If all 3 of them can put together big games consistently in the post-season, look for Central to make a big run.Access all of Prep Girls Hoops

12.5 RPG. Jones elevates to get rebounds as soon as they come off of the rim or the glass. She fights for positioning and seems to be able to come up with just about any rebound that’s even remotely close to the area she’s in. Jones is an invaluable rebounder for Central.

21.3 PPG. Jones continues to prove why she’s on the of the top players in the area. She has great touch around the basket and she gets a ton of offensive rebounds and put-backs. She works hard to find the gaps and get open down low, and once her teammates get her the ball, she really makes good decisions when it comes to scoring or kicking it out. Jones can score off of drives too and she finishes on both sides of the rim. Expect her to get a ton of paint points for the Yellow Jackets.

Jones might be the biggest sleeper statewide, but any team she faces certainly knows who she is and what she can do. A 1st team All-Region player last season, Jones is long and active on the court. Defensively, she makes it difficult for the offense to even get the ball down low, but if they’re able to, she’s an excellent shot blocker and she can alter shots even if she doesn’t get the block. Opposing teams have to seriously work if they want to try to keep her off the boards, but no matter how hard they work, she’ll still probably find a way to get there. Offensively, Jones is extremely hard to defend. She can make amazing catches, she puts herself in good positions, and she can finish on both sides of the rim. Jones shot 60.4% overall last season and she’s only gotten better since the season ended.
