With the High School season now in full swing I will be providing weekly updates of players that are putting up big numbers. Below are my “Top Performers” from Week One of the season.
Destiny Jones Destiny Jones 5’11” | PF Central | 2024 State KY is off to an incredible start to begin the 2023-2024 season. In Central’s first game at the Faith Harbor KY/TN Challenge hosted by Warren Central, she put up astronomical numbers with a 43 point and 18 rebound double-double, leading her team to an overtime victory against Houston County out of Erin, TN 77-71. She followed that performance with another double-double scoring 32 points along with 12 rebounds in a blow out win against Clarksville Academy 83-48. Jones is putting herself in position to be a front-runner for this years Kentucky Miss Basketball. The Yellow Jackets are 4-0 to start the season.
Destini McAllister went off for a career-high 31 points in the season opener against North Bullitt leading her team to victory 51-57. She followed up that game with 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals in a win against LaRue County 68-42. McAllister is off to a hot start to begin the season.
The sharpshooting Maleiyah Moore Maleiyah Moore 5’8″ | SG Scott County | 2025 State KY scored her 1000th point in the second game of the season against Lafayette, finishing the game with a team-high 21 points. Moore is averaging 15ppg through two games, and she is shooting 55.6% from behind the arc so far this season.
Highlights
Kyra McAlarnis put on an outstanding performance in the first game of the season. She had 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, helping her team get the win over Powell County 72-54. She then put up a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds along with 2 assists and 2 blocks in a win over Knott Central 60-50. The Lady Commodores are 2-0 to start the season.

Perry Central has another top performer for week one of the high school season. Senior guard Emmalee Neace put up 25 points and grabbed 5 boards. She also went 12/15 from the free throw line. McAlarnis and Neace are a dynamic-duo in the backcourt.
One of the top shooters in the state freshman Elin Logue Elin Logue 5’8″ | SG Walton-Verona | 2027 State KY went off for 18 points draining four 3’s, helping Walton-Verona get the victory over Henry County 51-35. The Bearcats are now 2-1 on the season.
Highlights
Kourtney Peterson Kourtney Peterson 5’11” | PF Scott | 2027 State KY is off to a very solid start to begin the 2023-2024 season. Scott High School played their first game against Ludlow, Peterson put up a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds leading her team to victory with a score of 70-38. The Lady Eagles are now 2-0 to start the season.
One of the top players in the 11th region Nataya Strader Nataya Strader 5’3″ | PG Madison Central | 2025 State KY is off to a great start to so far this season. Strader had 24 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals and went 7 for 8 from the free throw line in a big road win against Rockcastle County 63-59.
