Tapia falls into that SWB group, “speed with the ball,” and seeing her blow by the defender in the set and turn on the turbo in the court made her an immediate favorite the first time I saw her play. Why, because she’s under control and is unselfish, so her “on the ball” pressure coupled with quick hands usually means points going the other way, and her jumper as well as court vision, also stood out

Tapia is, how can I say this, a “nightmare to defend”. Her first step sets everything up as she blows by defenders with ease to score, but seeing her add the turbo in the open court and stay under control going full speed is special at this stage. Her court vision across the board looks good, she also drops the mid to long range, yet let me acknowledge that her “on the ball” pressure is somothering

Tapia sold me before I saw that she has received a D1 offer on social media and let me say this, when you have speed and can handle the ball while turning on the turbo, along with staying under control to score off the dribble or see the floor across the board, you’re ahead of the game. Her pull-up jumper is nice, yet so is the pressure she applies baseline to baseline see evaluation here

Tapia left a lasting first impression when I caught her a few months ago see evaluation here but defenders will have a harder time catching or simply staying with her because of her SWB, “speed with the ball” as well as her being able to change gears and accelerate with the blink of an eye. Her energy stays the same on both ends as her “on the ball” pressure stands out as well, plus she has D1 offers on the table as I type

Tapia immediately grabbed my attention and when you leave a lasting first impression like she did, all bets are off. She’s a long and athletic guard who either blew by defenders to score or showed the HEZ to get by them or drop the jumper. Her body control was nice, she gave me the “stop and pop” in transition and even showed the step back, yet her “on the ball” pressure was also nice
