Briggs averaged 9.7 points and 6.6 rebounds throughout last season. She stands at a tall and imposing 5-foot-11 who blends together veteran instincts with versatility. At one point, Briggs could be in the low post converting on a high-percentage basket and the next she could be connecting from 3-point range. Rebounding is another of Briggs’ many strong points. She is more than poised to finish her high school career with an emphatic exclamation point. 

Briggs is a name one must game plan for when the opponent is 5A Division 1 Spring Valley. She tallied 19 points in her Vikings’ season-opening victory over Trinity Collegiate – defending SCISA 4A state champions. Briggs continues to defy the conventional wisdom of what one would expect from someone with her build. She can impose her will in the paint but is versatile where she can play the role of a point guard or shooting guard. Coach Megan Davis can say her first game as Vikings coach earned her team a spot in the win column thanks to Davis’ scoring, rebounding, defense and on-court leadership. 

The 2025-26 season will see the dawn of the Megan Davis era for 5A Division 1 Spring Valley. Davis ought to be excited about the opportunity to coach a talent like Briggs for the next two seasons. When one thinks of a 5-foot-11 name such as Briggs, one thinks she has to be a conventional four or five. Briggs can play as a power forward or a center but she also can operate as a guard. She possesses the ball handling skills of someone playing point and the 3-point shooting confidence and prowess of a two guard. She averaged 7.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and one steal per contest last season for the Vikings. Expect for those numbers to go up this season. 

On previous versions of 5A Division 1 Spring Valley, Briggs was an x-factor for the Vikings as she provided plenty of height and depth. Briggs could be more of a featured player going forward on the next pair of Vikings teams. She is an intriguing prospect because of her height and the position she plays. She is listed as a 5-foot-11 small forward. When one thinks 5-foot-11 – especially considering Briggs’ build – it is easy to think that she would be more of a traditional five. Briggs not only defies conventional wisdom by thriving at the three, she defies conventional wisdom by thriving at the 3-point shot.
