The 2025-26 season at 5A Spring Valley was a somewhat down one for the Vikings with coach Megan Davis serving in the stead of the departed Megan Assey. Davis had a bird’s eye view to Simmons’ breakout year as a freshman. A pair of HBCUs in Claflin and Miles (in Alabama) would extend the first two offers in Simmons’ direction. She is another Palmetto 76ers/A’ja Wilson Elite product that spent her most recent live period in Las Vegas at Nike’s Tournament of Champions. Simmons played in 19 of Spring Valley’s 24 games last season and averaged 12.2 points, 3.2 steals, three rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
