LBI Summer Showcase: Rising Seniors on the Rise

The Cabarrus County facility recently held one of its first events.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Said event was the 2026 LBI Summer Showcase. A number of teams across both North and South Carolina converged northeast of Charlotte the Sunday following the Fourth of July.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We at Prep Girls Hoops also made the trip to Concord for the festivities. As was previously mentioned, the Palmetto State was well-represented – including its rising senior class. Briggs averaged 9.7 points and 6.6 rebounds throughout last season. She stands at a tall and imposing 5-foot-11 who blends together veteran instincts with versatility. At one point, Briggs could be in the low post converting on a high-percentage basket and the next she could be connecting from 3-point range. Rebounding is another of Briggs' many strong points. The ball-handling skills combined with Moore's agility and veteran instincts make her a tough assignment for any defense. Moore also displays plenty of toughness as she is unafraid to fall to the floor to complete a play and can appear from seemingly out of nowhere to haul in a rebound. She was a key player on a Dorman team that advanced to last season's 5A Division 1 Upper State semifinal. Hickman stands at 5-foot-11 and thrives as a three even though she has the height of a four forward. She played in 20 contests last season for the Lions. That stature comes in very useful as a rebounder and she combines that with length that can lead to many steals and additional offensive possessions for her team. One can see when watching her play exactly why that is the case. She has secured offers from Augusta, Stetson, Anderson and Converse in the last several weeks. Hopper is a versatile veteran from a Gaffney team that were 5A Division 2 Upper State finalists from last season and is looking for even more success as the Indians return to 4A play in 2026-27. She would play in all 29 contests last season for Gaffney and nearly averaged a double-double for the season – 15.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 1.8 blocks per game.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
