The Evangel commit is quite the shooter. Was a consistent perimeter threat throughout. Even showed the clutch chops to drill a big deep three in the fourth that momentarily put the Lady Conquerors up 2. She’s a returning double digit scorer from last year’s squad and is a big part of their early improvements this season.

Edwards has a whole social media page filled with highlights, of all varieties. Including a “defense is fun” post. Showing her working hard on and off the ball to provide an impact to her team. On offense, it appears she has similar energetic play. Getting out in transition, and has some wiggle when getting downhill. And can even make the defense pay when they give her space from three. Her best move was a nice “in and out” dribble then blow by for two in the above like post.

With high arcing three pointers that lead to a shot touch on the rim, Edwards’ main contribution for her sophomore season looks to have been as a spot up sniper. Which, her quick release did allow him to get off good shots over closing out defenders. When defenders did close out on her, she was comfortable pump faking and either attacking the rim or redirecting with a dribble or two and shooting again. There’s a small mix of passing, including post entry passes that hint at her ability to be more than a shooter. Which is an area to keep an eye on in Edwards’ development as an upperclassman.
