Mortensen had some moments where she was just hard to stop. She is too big and too strong. Her leaping ability and her length inside made her a tough cover. She also displayed some soft hands and touch on the ball from anywhere inside 15 feet.

Elina has been an absolute force this season for Corner Canyon. She has posted some of the more impressive stat lines this year and almost all of her biggest performances come in games her team ends up winning and in their losses they are all within 6 points or less. She is undoubtedly one of the most athletic girls in the state with her vertical jump as well as her aggression chasing down the basketball on rebounds and steals. Her vertical leap gives her the ability to raise over defenders for her jump shot but also to get to the rim fairly easy and finish. Some of her biggest moments this season include a blowout season opener against Green Canyon where she had a double double scoring 28 points and had 15 rebounds, she’s had multiple other games with 20 plus points and 10 plus rebounds but her most impressive double double of the season may have been in a win over Hunter where she recorded 14 points, 6 rebounds and 10 steals. Elina has been on a tear, looking forward to seeing what she does in region play.

Mortensen is on a tear. Another volleyball stud that is killing it on the basketball floor. Almost 25 points a game and 8 rebounds shows that she is in the right place at the right time but also that her skills are elite and she knows how to score and rebound at a high level. She has 5 double-doubles this year and a 35 piece. She is killing it going into region.

Eli is a natural athlete that has a strong base in volleyball and basketball. She will be heading to BYU to play volleyball as she is following in her mothers footsteps. Her mom Nina is in the BYU Volleyball Hall of Fame. That leaping ability is very well preent on the basketball court as she rebounds really well and she has a sweet elevated jumper as well. She will be a double-double type of a player for Corner Canyon.
