The ability to shoot the long ball at a consistent and efficient rate is needed for all forwards, and Rice has that capability. Great length, and has the awareness to be a paint presence too. She’s still getting comfortable on how to use her length in the lower post, but when she does.. she’ll be a key piece for her HS program. Solid potential.

didn’t stand out too much in her first contest that I watched her compete in today, but Game 2? Yeah, she was a baller. Rice is listed at 5’10 but seems to stand more around 6FT when she is out there on the court. She moves effortlessly down the floor with giant strides and meaningful movement. In the early part of her second game, Rice was on fire. She showed off her skill in the paint by scoring near the hoop with her size, she showed her shooting stroke from the midrange by knocking down a pull up or two, and even showed her defensive ability by playing defense on everyone in front of her on the court. For context, at the time, her team was switching all screens and it was no issue for Rice, as she was able to stay in front of anyone and everyone. This is definitely a player to know moving forward out of the state of Illinois at the 15U level, if you don’t already.
