This weekend, prospects from all around Illinois will be at our Top 250 to showcase their skillset with scouts and College coaches observing. Below are my picks for top forwards to keep an eye on.
Spychala has a lot of unnoticed things that build her game, but it’s the things that most coaches appreciate. Her awareness and sense are great, she works hard on every possession, and her ability to still remain impactful even after battling with the physicality is something to take notice of. A huge summer lands her huge jump in our future updated rankings.
Highlights
The size and skillset that Bella has is hard to go unnoticed. On both sides of the ball she impacts the game. From a defensive standpoint, she holds her own in on the block, and can rebound at a solid rate. Offensively, she’s comfortable scoring on all levels, and a pure form allows her to stretch the court as well. Strong upside.
Highlights
Talented is an understatement on what Kiper is. She has the knowledge to score whenever and however, the IQ to play multiple positions, and she plays bigger and stronger than what her frame shows. Excited to see how she’s evolved over the summer. A key player in her class.
Highlights
One of the most versatile players in her class, Sanchez has many layers in her game. She’s strong on the drive, has a quick and consistent release from the arc to the mid. Her frame matched with her skillset allows her to be an impactful player on the court no matter her position.
Vyverman has all the intangibles to be a dominant player in her class, let alone the state. The frame can’t go unnoticed, and her ability to score at multiple levels is present too. Great hands on both sides of the ball, and defensively she can guard and stop multiple positions. Tremendous upside.
Highlights
The ability to shoot the long ball at a consistent and efficient rate is needed for all forwards, and Rice has that capability. Great length, and has the awareness to be a paint presence too. She’s still getting comfortable on how to use her length in the lower post, but when she does.. she’ll be a key piece for her HS program. Solid potential.
