Are we sure the last name is Butler? She was Ellie Buckets all night! This shooting guard understands exactly what it means to let it fly. Livingston was down three, Ellie gets the ball and makes one of the biggest shots of her career! She tied the game to send it in overtime! Despite the loss, Butler gave it her all like she always does. She was great at attacking and getting whatever looks she wanted. Ellie doesn’t need much space or room to get a shot off. Trevecca knows exactly what they are getting out of Ellie. She’s a tough, all-around elite athlete!

The 3A Miss Basketball Candidate is the heart and soul leader of the Lady Wildcats team. She is a gamer who can fill it up like crazy. Of course, she can score it at a high clip, but it’s the other things she does so well that impact the game. Her ability to rebound the basketball, play tremendous help side D, communicate, and little things such as this help not only her but her ball club better. She is a winner and someone who brings the juice nightly to every single game.

Impressive. A very talented individual who plays the game the right way. Fundamentally sound, this kid just goes to work and gets after it. She can score both along the arc and inside the painted area. She takes care of the boards, crashing them on both ends of the floor. She makes the right passes and knows how to defend without fouling. A heady ballplayer who is the ultimate teammate. She has had a stellar career thus far and is a true leader on the hardwood and in the community. Look for her to shine bright at the next level at Trevecca.

The magnitude of this young lady can be felt throughout the entire program. She has been playing at a high level since stepping foot on campus as a freshman. She’s been the X factor for her club every year, putting up consistent numbers along the way. This season, she is averaging 21 ppg, 7 rpg, and 2spg. She’s been an impactful player her whole career and someone who future Lady Wildcats should model after.

can straight up score the ball. I’ve often said, there is nothing harder to do in basketball than to score, especially when the opposing defense’s game plan is based around stopping you. She doesn’t rely on supreme athleticism but instead an incredibly high skill set. She hits shots all of the floor, and many at a high degree of difficulty. Off balance, or contested–she has a chance of making it. She’s also a top tier rebounder for her position.

Did her normal thing on Thursday going 2-0 while averaging 20 points a game, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in big wins over Oakland and Green Hill. Butler looked poised and super confident. I also think her floor vision is begging to to really improve as that’s the next important evolution in her game.

Ellie “Buckets” Butler has been DOMINANT in summer team camps. She’s averaging 26 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists. I could easily see her averaging 25 points a game this season as she simply continues to get better and better.
As of this writing, Livingston’s gone 3-1 with wins over Cleveland and Smith Co, and their only loss to Loretto.

At the Brandon Clay Showcase, TNFS struggled through roster/injury issues, but still played well overall. Averaging 17 a game, Ellie “Buckets” is continuing to prove to be a professional scorer. But she’s more than that, she always impacts the game on the glass (6 per game), and her intensity as a competitor is obvious. Give me the kid that hates to lose, and displays it by simply competing extremely hard.

vs TN SOL
Butler went on a 5-0 run all by herself, with a tough take to the rim, followed by a 3. She was a force on the glass all game. Made a really high level pass to Cloniger for a layup in transition. Really battled on the glass for extra chances. Multiple offensive rebounds in the 2nd half. Butler is scrappy and competitive. Continued to attack the rim in the 2nd half and really found success there. Butler took a HUGE charge on Hassell with 2:00 left to give TNFS the ball down 6

Butler put on a show this weekend for her TFNS squad. In 6 games, Butler was just dominant offensively. 31 pts, 21 points, 20 points, 18 points, 20 points, 24 points. Butler looks like a Miss Basketball candidate. She’s so confident in her ability to shoot the three or attack the rim.
