Against a sneaky-good Potomac Falls team, Ellie led a balanced attack with 16 points. Then, later in the week, she knocked down six threes and finished with 20 points in a blowout over a good Skyline team.

had an outstanding year for a Meridian team that was a possession away from a state championship win. Ellie led them in scoring and is one of the best shooters in NOVA. Ellie had many accomplishments this season, finishing first-team all-district and first-team all-region. She also made second-team all-state.

got a large portion of her offense from three this year and led a state-final Meridian team in scoring because of her shooting. Ellie didn’t shoot the three at a super high percentage, but just watching her, you can tell this is a high-level shooter. Ellie has great range and had some terrific performances this year. She knocked down 82 threes, which was good for second in NOVA.

Meridian is a team I’ve watched a lot more over the past month, and they consistently impress me. In Meridian’s win over Seton, Ellie scored 23 points. Ellie is a terrific shooter and gets much of her offense from behind the arc.

Ellie Friesen opened the week with 17 points in an overtime win over Brentsville. She followed that up with a big game in a 25-point win over Liberty. Ellie had a great shooting night, knocking down 6 threes and finishing with 24 points. She finished her week with 14 points in a low-scoring 2-point win over Heritage. Ellie is a terrific shooter and the leading scorer on an underrated Meridian squad.
