Tonia Ziter | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
One of the players who really stood out to us late in the season was Emeli. She plays with confidence and isn’t afraid to handle the ball under pressure or take on bigger, more physical defenders.
Her fearlessness shows in the way she attacks and creates, consistently finding ways to make something happen when the ball is in her hands.

Langi was the engine behind Desert Hills’ performance. She plays with zero hesitation, attacking downhill and embracing contact on both ends of the floor. Her stat line filled up with steals, blocks, and second-chance put-backs, but it was her physicality and toughness that stood out most. She plays much bigger than her frame suggests, carving out space and finishing through traffic. When the Thunder needed life in the third quarter, it was Langi’s energy and defensive pressure that shifted momentum and pulled them back into the fight.

is emerging as one of the more intriguing young prospects in Utah girls’ basketball, and her recruitment momentum is beginning to reflect it. She combines length, agility, and natural instincts that translate on both ends of the floor. In a recent outing, she added 9 points and 3 steals—numbers that don’t just show scoring ability, but also her knack for disrupting plays and turning defense into offense. As her confidence grows and her role expands, Emeli has the tools to become a high-impact contributor and a legitimate college-level target in the coming years.

Desert Hills is in search of a new leader this season, and while that’s a tall order for a young player, Emeli has the poise and talent to take it on. She already brings a strong foundation of skill and confidence to the floor, showing flashes of maturity beyond her age. As she continues to build strength and refine her ability to finish through contact, her overall game will take another leap forward. With her natural feel for the game and growing offensive versatility, Emeli has the potential to become a true Division I prospect — and at the very least, she’s already positioning herself as a high-impact D1-D2 caliber player in the making.

Emeli just wrapped up another summer competing with the Tongan national team, and it shows in her game. Her strength and speed, combined with a much-improved shooting touch, make her a tough matchup at the guard spot. Don’t be surprised if Dhills puts the ball in her hands often and runs much of their offense through her this season. An easy rankings riser this year, given the opportunities in front of her.

Langi makes quick easy moves. Really like how she does not get caught up in the the two or three moves to get open. She makes a quick decision and gets downhill. Langi also passes the ball well and has good vision. She is a player that has upside out in Southern Utah.
