Another Guard that has shown some real promise this season when it comes to shooting the basketball is Emily Boeckman of Calamus-Wheatland High School. Boeckman is a Shooting Guard that understands her time and space on the floor, while possessing a great feel for the game. If you sit down and watch Boeckman compete for just a half of basketball, you can tell that she has a different “feel” than most. I’m not sure what it is but she seems to move just a little bit smoother than the others around her and she seems to holds herself to a higher standard than other players. This past week, Boeckman put up a stat line that caught my attention. In her teams win against Marquette Catholic on Tuesday night, she had 22 Points (7-13), 4 Rebounds, 5 Assists, and 4 Steals. All of these numbers were vital in this contest as it was a close one at times. All in all, this Calamus-Wheatland team is legit. They sit at 19-1 with only a handful of more games to go in their regular season. Impressive to say the least.
