About Emma

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a team first player! I will always choose to make the best play for my team. On the floor, I like to play fast, get after it on the defensive side, and get my teammates involved. I love getting out in transition and going down hill on my opponents. Defensively, I can guard both bigs and guards and always willing to step in and take charges!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am fun going and love being around teammates and friends. They are considered family to me. My Dad has stressed mental toughness my entire life and I have grown very much mentally but it is something I continue to work on everyday. I feel as I get older, I am understanding mental toughness and the mental side of the game is just as important as the skill it takes.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I play volleyball for my high school so between year round basketball and volleyball and my volunteer work, I have not joined any clubs. When I get down time I look forward to hanging out with my friends and family.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I lead with my voice and my actions! I understand being a leader is hard to do and you may miss out on things or be put in uncomfortable positions but I have accepted that. As far as teamwork, that is my DNA! It is US versus the competition. There is no room for inner complications or distractions! Community- From volunteering time to the city to delivering food for Meals On Wheels!

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

As I grew from a 5'5 guard to a 5'11 guard I feel that my endurance has went way down and I am working on keeping my motor on high for every second of the game. It is a battle but with conditioning and mental prep I will get there!

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to go to a college where a coach is gonna inspire me and being the best player and person out of me. I loved being pushed to my limits but with motivation! I am looking into physical therapy as my degree so I am hoping a team that wants me has a good PT program!
