About Erica

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My style is up-tempo and aggressive.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I believe I embody one of our high school team’s mottos, which is “relentless effort”.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of the band, holding several leadership roles, like section leader for the alto saxes and where I have received the Samantha Richards Award for dedication and love of music. I earned the 2023 Academic Achievement Award for family and consumer science.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

One of the skills I have developed through playing basketball is cooperative leadership. Sometimes as a player you must lead and other times, you need to follow. Working with younger players gives you the chance to practice leading more, and then working with great players, coaches, and trainers gives you more chance to follow and learn.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I wouldn’t say I have faced significant challenges, but rather typical challenges. Working with different players and different teams and different coaches can be challenging, but working through these challenges is what makes winning as a team so great!

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that can support my academic career, while offering the chance to compete on the court. I plan to earn a degree in criminology/criminal justice to pursue a career in policing, ultimately hoping to become a K-9 handler. I am eager to play for coaches who challenge their players not only on the court but also as people and eager to play with a team that wants to compete.
