In my opinion, Mountain View is the top team in 3A and the team with the best odds to win the championship. Even though 3A state runner-up Dover returns with a solid roster and reigning champs Lamar have some of their pieces from last season, I think this team in the 3A-2 will win it all, and it all starts with

Cooper impressed right away last season, exploding for 30 points and 5 steals against a good Jasper team in November. Cooper has since carried her great play from the 2024-25 season into her play with Team ISO, having played well in the EYBL Champions League, posting 7 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals against the Alabama Southern Starz. She also had 10 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals against Texas Crush.
The guard is an excellent two-way weapon. On the offensive end, she can create her shot on the outside or slice and dice her way inside and finish in the paint. On defense, she takes advantage of sloppy passes and handles, coming up with the steal and pushing the ball in transition.

For whatever reason, Evvi Cooper has yet to be offered to play at the next level. She has already played elite basketball this season, scoring double-digits in nearly every game.
It does not take Cooper very long to get her shot up. She has a lightning-fast release and is dangerous when she spots up for a triple on the fastbreak. Catch-and-shoot jumpers are automatic for her, but if she has a chance to drive inside, she will take it. Cooper drives hard to the paint, and if the defense crashes in on her, she can hit them with a nasty euro or step-through to get her shot off.
On defense, Cooper uses her speed and active hands in order to generate turnovers from the other team. She will race down the court to the other end to get some easy points or to dish to a trailing teammate.
Evvi Cooper has had multiple games this season where she has dominated on offense and defense. Look for her to continue to be a deadly playmaker for Mountain View for the rest of her career.

Not many freshmen start out their varsity career with multiple double-digit scoring outings, but fewer drop 30 on a good non-league opponent in a close game. Evvi Cooper put up 30 points in a 1-point win over Jasper on the 25th, and I think that is a good indication as to what we should expect to see from Cooper in her high school career.
Cooper is an excellent shooter, and when she is able to settle in from outside, she cannot be stopped. She uses a quick release, excellent elevation, and good timing on her shot. Cooper is lethal off both the catch and the dribble, scoring loads of buckets from beyond the arch and from mid-range. Cooper can score on the inside as well.
Cooper has a great handle, and if she is able to get a step on the defender, she will blow right by them on her way to the bucket. If help comes, she can hit them with a nasty euro-step before scooping and scoring in the paint.
Evvi Cooper will continue to dominate in the scoring column for Mountain View, and if she is already playing like one of the best players in the state as a freshmen, then the sky is too low of a limit for her.
