Expert Analysis
Johnny Vick | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
A 5’11 combo guard that showed the ability Saturday to play 1-3 positions if needed. She handled the ball well in the open floor, keeping her eyes up and advancing the break with a long lead pass that resulted in an easy layup.
Against tough pressure, she showed poise with a nice spin move off the dribble, using her long frame to shield defenders and protect the basketball. She moved without the ball, relocating into open space and staying ready for the ball to swing back around.
She attacked well from the wings, making strong reads once she got into the paint. Finishing with a soft touch at the rim or dropping off passes to the post, she consistently made smart decisions. On baseline drives, she displayed good footwork with a slide step to square herself at the rim while also making hard kick-outs to open shooters when the defense collapsed.
Enjoyed watching this young lady play the game. A versatile guard with size, feel, and the ability to impact winning in multiple ways.

I knew Greenland would be a team to watch this season, especially after adding

, who has moved up 6 spots in the rankings, and she may be on the move again.
The Lady Pirates have been defeating teams that they would have no business beating in previous seasons. Against 6A Springdale, the 3A-1 Greenland squad got the 18-point win, with Norwood logging 24 points. In a recent contest against Providence Academy, Norwood struck again, putting up 17 points.
So far this season, Norwood has clearly been killing it offensively. She is driving hard to the paint and scoring with ease, even through contact. She has shown off a variety of moves when heading downhill, including euros, step-throughs, and spins. If she takes a few steps back to the 3-point line, too bad defenders, as she can knock down open jumpers without much effort.
Speaking of effort,

gives 100% effort on both ends, especially defense, where she is turning into an on-ball pest. Like I mentioned earlier, she may not be done moving up the rankings.

had an eventful summer. She was offered by Abilene Christian in May, then picked up offers from Arkansas-Fort Smith and UCA. She is starting her sophomore season at a new school: Greenland High School, and she could set her new conference on fire.
Norwood has the potential to be a 20-point-per-game scorer for Greenland. She has a very quick release on her jumper, and she can pull up or catch and shoot from mid-range and three. Norwood does not mind shooting these jumpers with a hand in her face, proving that she is just as lethal.
Closer to the basket, Norwood is just as dangerous. She is a crafty finisher who can use both hands to score inside. The guard uses a variety of jabs, head fakes, and step-throughs to gain separation against the defense. Once she has a lane, few can stop her attack.

did not see enough playing time during her freshman season. Now with new scenery and some solid teammates, Norwood could be one of the biggest breakout candidates in the state, especially after watching her torch defenses all summer with the Arkansas
Banshees
.

has risen in the rankings recently, mostly because of her play with the Arkansas
Banshees
. She did not play much as a freshman with Farmington’s championship-winning varsity squad, but now she headlines a great transfer group at Greenland High School.
Moving from the 5A West to the 3A-1 is an adjustment, but Norwood already has collegiate attention, and she is expected to adjust just fine. Abilene Christian has already offered the 2028 guard because of her play in the AAU circuits.
Norwood has good length for a point guard, which can help her on both ends of the floor. She has good defensive instincts, but her offensive skillset is something the rest of the 3A classification should be afraid of. She can knock down the long-ball, but she uses that length to finish over taller defenders inside.

With a quick first step, Norwood thrived on drives in the halfcourt. Which she combined with off the ball movement and transition speed to be a terror in a Saturday night win. Continually lit up the opposition at the rim with floaters and layups. Her combination of speed and smoothness made it look easy. As she blew past defenders but never looked hurried.
