Hawkins caught our attention early Sunday with an explosive burst to the basket that demonstrated her ability to create offense off the dribble. On the next possession, the 5’7 Sisseton guard sprinted up the wing, calling for the basketball and making herself readily available. That aggressiveness and on-court communication was encouraging. Fallon found ways to contribute throughout the day, displaying good passing instincts and a willingness to attack. Occasionally she tried to do a little too much with the basketball in hand, but that’s part of going head-to-head against high-level competition. An accomplished perimeter shooter with range and a quick release, Hawkins can play either guard position.
