An offensive threat to score all over the court. She is a skilled forward that shoots the ball with ease. Finley also has ability to make plays creating off the dribble or cutting without the ball. She plays on a highly talented Lake Norman team which sets her up in a nice position because she has talent all around her.

Standing 6’1 at the guard position alone is a major factor for opponents on both sides of the ball. On defense she has great length to deflect and alter shots and passes on the perimeter. Her wingspan also gives her a big rebounding advantage. Offensively, Finley is super skilled and her play making ability makes things look super easy. She can score from anywhere on the court.

Finley Sherrill Finley Sherrill 6'2" | SF/SG Lake Norman | 2028 State NC knows how to make something out of a broken play always going after loose possessions and showing a finesse around the rim being able to score at all angles.  She knows how to knock down her shot from anywhere around the perimeter executing plays perfectly designed to get her the open look.  Her length is an asset on defense, too, constantly getting in the way of her opponents.

Finley has great size as a 6’1 guard. She is excellent beyond the arc and shoots the ball at a high percentage. She is becoming a lot more well-rounded off the bounce as well. Sherill has very good insight to the game and plays it at a high level. All of this has resulted in several Division I offers and we can expect more as she gets even older. She competes with an extremely talented Lake Norman team so she will continue to get better.

Finley Sherrill Finley Sherrill 6'2" | SF/SG Lake Norman | 2028 State NC has excellent size and length on the wing using it to elevate up and over her opponents to score some points, especially around the perimeter.  She can move well with the ball, too, using shot fakes to get by her opponents and score some points at the rim.  She does well deflecting passes on defense preventing her opponents from getting the chance to score some points.

Finley Sherrill Finley Sherrill 6'2" | SF/SG Lake Norman | 2028 State NC has certainly had a great summer catching the eyes of college coaches.  Her size alone is excellent to have on the court, especially as she excels on the wing sliding around the perimeter and knocking down shots for three.  She doesn’t back down from battling inside for rebounds, and she does well getting the right position to score off the glass from the block.  

Finley Sherrill Finley Sherrill 6'2" | SF/SG Lake Norman | 2028 State NC follows shots well, especially on offense scoring off the offensive glass.  She attacked the baseline drawing defenders and making the dish to her teammates.  She ran the floor well being ready for the offensive board in transition to score her own points.  She showed off her range even hitting a tough three pointer over a tall opponent.  She was sliding into the openings at the perfect time to get the pass.

Finley Sherrill Finley Sherrill 6'2" | SF/SG Lake Norman | 2028 State NC has already shown her opponents why coaches design plays to get her the ball and knock down her shot from deep.  She does well coming off of screens timing her cuts and positioning perfectly to get the open look and make her three pointers.  She has great height, too, being versatile on defense guarding a range of players filling in whatever role her team needs.

Finley’s game is marked by her ability to move without the ball, always finding ways to get open and create scoring opportunities. She cuts to the basket quickly, using her speed and timing to slip past defenders and get easy looks at the rim. On defense, she’s disciplined, staying in front of her man and using active hands to disrupt plays and force turnovers. Offensively, Finley knows how to use her body to draw fouls, and she capitalizes on those opportunities by knocking down free throws with consistency. Her all-around skill set, and smart, aggressive play make her a valuable asset on both ends of the court.

Finley Sherrill Finley Sherrill 6'2" | SF/SG Lake Norman | 2028 State NC will definitely have some big shoes to fill when the Wildcats’ current senior group leaves, but I think she is up for the challenge.  She moves well without the ball finding the openings whether she is sliding down to the block or around the perimeter.  She has nice range with her shot from around the perimeter.  Her length is definitely an asset on defense as she knows where to go to give herself an opportunity to knock the ball away.
