My biggest takeaway from Hinton’s game has to be her ability to adapt to whatever her team needs. She played a more aggressive role during the summer with her AAU program, and plays more of a playmaking, complementary piece during HS ball. Rochester has got them a solid piece for their program. A kid who can do what is needed.

What stood out to me first about Gabby was her ability to operate in the open court, whether it’s making a tough pass, or using her length to get by the defense and make something happen for herself or the team. On both ends, she’s active and a ball magnet. She plays the game with a strong amount of awareness and energy that allows her to be a game changer no matter the matchup.

Gabrielle put her talent on display for Chicago Hoops Express 17U at our Victory Region Finals. She beat full-court pressure with quick-change of direction crossovers and converted many free throws with sound shooting mechanics. Gabrielle swished a pure corner jumper off the bounce, finished a layup with touch, and pushed the ball with pace in transition after securing defensive rebounds. Her quick feet kept athletic ball-handlers from driving to the rim.

Hinton is back to 100 percent and it seems like she has not missed a beat. She is one of the toughest players in this class, and it shows on both sides of the ball. She is a top notch playmaker and relentless on the defensive end. Her length is a big reason why she is so impactful whenever she is on the court. Tremendous amount of upside and potential.

Ignatius started the first half of the season as one of the best teams in the state, even with one of their promising guards out. Now shes back, and what she brings to this team could truly push them over the top as a legitimate state title contender. Shes a problem on both ends of the floor and is nowhere near her peak as a basketball player.

One of the most impressive prospects I’ve seen in person so far this summer. Hinton has taken major leaps in her game over the past years. The outside training has definitely shown in her progression in multiple ways. Her ability to be aware and effective in the passing lanes is one of the main things that sticks out to me whenever I see her take the floor. Then there’s her playmaking skillset that needs to be watched. She takes calculated risks, and doesn’t second guess her decisions when making tough passes. Excited to see how she grows over the next couple of years.

She embodies what I saw all weekend from her and team which was toughness and smart basketball. She made her presence and impact felt all weekend long with her scoring and her offensive and defensive playmaking. She displayed her ability to score, her awareness and both sides of the ball stood out, along with her ability to guard multiple positions on the perimeter. Impressive weekend from her and her team as they went 3-0 this weekend!

The ability to score is present, but Gabby’s court awareness is what stuck out the most. She takes risks on her passes but they seem to be calculated, and are usually on target. On the defensive side of the ball, her length allows her to guard 1-3, and she’s active enough to the point that she can be a mismatch no matter what situation or position you put her in. Bright future.

Hinton’s wingspan is the first thing that sticks out. Shes impactful on the boards, and a majority of them are secured with one hand. Offensively she has a solid shot that allows her to extend beyond 15 ft and out. From a playmaking point of a view, Gabby can produce at all angles. The length allows her to make on target full court passes, as well as cross body passes – that may seem difficult. Defensively, solid footwork and her length helps with guarding multiple positions.
