Chatard has had a recent run of solidly skilled, tough-nosed, hard-working kids for the last decade or so, and Gia fits that mold well. She has an already strong, athletic frame, she plays with a nice motor, she’s willing to be physical inside, but she also shows some skill around the perimeter. She does a lot of work inside the paint right now, and that looks like her comfort zone, but she handled it fine, and she has a nice-looking shot outside. Athletically, I can definitely see her making a transition to being more of a wing prospect, but I’ll be curious to see how the Lady Trojans use her.
