was particularly impactful with her quick cuts in the middle of Springville’s zone and her soft touch in the paint. When Maquoketa struggled to get penetration against the Oriole’s defense, you could rely on Richter to flash to an open spot in the lane and make a play. She was able to find open teammates on kickout passes as well as call her own number for a handful of tough finishes over her left shoulder. She also showed her ability to put the ball on the deck with a tough floater in the second half. On the defensive end, Richter is a disciplined, reliable help defender with quick hands.

. Richter has touch, a physical feel for the game, with a balanced attack offensively. She is good with her back to the basket going through someone smaller but she can also counter if she is ever cut off. She isn’t bad at passing to other open teammates out of the Post when she is doubled, understanding situations pretty well while being noteworthy on defense as someone that can control the lane. Wartburg is a program with an efficient system. If Richter can get some work on her weaknesses early on, she should be a productive player for this group over her 4-5 years.

of Maquoketa Valley High School will return for one more go-around as a Senior this upcoming season. Richter, a 5’9 SF, has been a constant source of energy inside the paint for her program. Offensively, when they let her work with her back to the basket in space, she is better than average. She can hit her defender with a powerful move going up and over or she can hit them with a counter move into something else if they happen to cut her off. Defensively, disciplined and patient. She doesn’t fall for make fakes and she always seems to be in the right place at the right time for a stop. All in all, If MV wins any games this year, a main reason for that will behind the place of

stood out across the stat sheet for the Maquoketa Valley Wildcats. The 5’8″ small forward tallied 14 points, 5 boards, an assist and a steal to lead her team to a win and stay undefeated in their early season. Richter does a good job sealing smaller defenders, finishing through contact and keeping the ball away from hands in the post. Averaging just over 11 points and 4 rebounds last year, Richter looks like she is set to take the next step during her junior season.

comes to us from Maquoketa Valley High School and is someone else to know from this roster. Richter is a Forward, that gets down the floor in a hurry. She excels in the categories of Rebounding and being someone that opposing teams need to pay attention to on every possession or else she will have a double-double before halftime. This is a prospect that is going to do the dirty work for the rest of her team without the expectation of appreciation, no matter who she is playing with. She moves well for her size and she has a presence down low more times than not. I’m sure she is going to be tasked with bringing some energy each game, something that is expected at this point from what I’m seeing. If she can do that and stay relentless on the glass, she is going to have some really meaningful games over these next few months.
