flipped a switch. She spearheaded a massive comeback by catching fire from deep and turning up the heat on defense. When Springville’s zone didn’t extend out far enough, Audra made them pay. She was money off the dribble last night and flashed a smooth side step dribble and crossover on two occasions to connect on three pointers. She was also a menace in the backcourt. She didn’t seem to tire, was relentless with her on-ball defense, and if I were to guess she forced at least 5 turnovers. Well done to Burbridge for her fight and in-game adjustments last night.

of Maquoketa Valley shimmered coming off the bench to lead her Wildcats to a comfortable victory. Burbridge showed off an efficient stroke, finishing the game 3/7 on three pointers and 4/5 on free throws. She also stuffed the stat sheet with five rebounds, four steals, and an impressive seven assists. Audra has exploded early on in her Sophomore season — she has increased her scoring average by 10 points as well as bumping her numbers in rebounds, assists and steals. The lengthy point guard is absolutely one to watch on the state level in class 2A.

was one of the best players that her conference had to offer as a Freshman and I’m hoping that she can build on that for her Sophomore season ahead. Burbridge has natural instincts in this game of Basketball. She knows when to do what, she has a great feel for situations unfolding in front of her in real time, and she makes things seem effortless on both sides of the ball. She thrives as a PG offensively and she can make her mark being a stingy defender as well. All in all, we saw a lot of good things out of Burbridge in the past, so we have hope there will be more of that moving forward.

The #1 option for MV High School this Winter will be Audra Burbirdge as she brings up the rock. Burbridge is someone who does a good job of pushing the ball in transition off rebounds when she has open space, she can slow it down and run her team’s system or she attack and create for others off the bounce. Defensively, fast acting hands and quick feet help her stay in front of her individual matchup a majority of the time and if she ever does get beaten, she is pretty good at recovering into space to get back into the play. All in all, Burbridge should put up good numbers this Winter if she stays motivated.

put together for Maquoketa Valley on their way to an overall 22-3 record, 11-1 in conference and a trip to the 2A State Tournament. Burbridge dished out a high number of assists each night, demonstrating her selflessness and ability to create. She only turned over the ball twice a game, leaving her with a +2 Assist-to-Turnover ratio. An impressive number for anyone that still has three years of high school ball left to go. I do have Burbridge as a college level prospect at the end of the day. If she keeps working and her leadership keeps up, she is going to have several options to compete at the next level before you know it.

. Burbridge is a mixture of a pass first PG and a PG that needs to score the ball at a constant rate. I think depending on her circumstances, she could do either of those jobs, always yielding positive results. Today she kept getting to the basket and finishing in some crafty ways. At one point, she made a nice spin move out of a baseline drive into a reverse finish to tie the game in the 4th. Her mixture of quick hands, fast instincts, and knowledge of what is happening around her is pretty impressive for someone that is only a freshman. She demonstrated a ton of promise and ability today. Now it’s all about what she can do to build on that moving forward.

is a PG that is versatile, she possesses a picture perfect jump shot with great balance and extension on her release, she understands how to create for others, and she is willing to do whatever is needed for her team to see some success. Burbridge should see the Varsity floor a good amount this season at MV. In their first event of the Winter, Burbridge saw time and made some respectable plays. This is someone that is going to have to stack days moving forward to really unlock her full potential but right now, she should put together a better than average Freshman season with her high school program.

is going to be a Freshman on the floor this Winter for Maquoekta Valley High School and I have a feeling that she is going to be able to see some Varsity minutes for her squad before the season comes to an end but we will have to see how it plays out. Burbridge is a 5’7 CG, that can move between the PG and the SG spot around the outside of the perimeter. She is someone that can either handle and bring up the rock for her team or she can stay off of the ball, making the right play around her whenever it touches her hands. Defensively, she is a guard that can stick in front of several different types of players, it’s really just whatever her coaching staff needs out of her at any given time. That versatile ability is going to suit her well in the long run, as long as the stays motivated.
