The Nebraska Wesleyan pledge will be a great addition for the Prairie Wolves. A strong and physical presence, Thomalla can play inside and outside for coach Tim Strauser. Against Class A Kearney, she led her team with 20 points, six rebounds and also added three assists. Tomalla has been a leader all season for the Class C-1, fourth-ranked Swedes and currently boasts averages 16.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists for Gothenburg.

Gothenburg is going to see ample success this Winter because of their personal on roster and the competition they will have to face-off against. One of their talented CG’s, who has recently committed to play college ball following this Winter, is Halsey Thomalla Halsey Thomalla 5'11" | CG/SG Gothenburg | 2026 State NE . Thomalla has great size for her position at 5’11, she moves well with that size, and she is versatile because of the combination of those two factors. She is someone that mainly works off of the Wing as the 2 but she can move over to the 3 when her group has a smaller lineup out on the floor. Gothenburg also has a stud PG on their team so as long as these two can play together, the sky is the limit. In this Player Rankings Update, Thomalla drops into our Top 75 in the 2026 Class for the first time at #31.

Gothenburg High School has a few talented hoopers that will get the chance to compete at the next level following their high school careers on the basketball court. One of those players is 5’11 CG – Halsey Thomalla Halsey Thomalla 5'11" | CG/SG Gothenburg | 2026 State NE . Thomalla can work inside-to-out. She is someone that you have to make early on by the bucket or else she will have a double-double by halftime. She can also line up shots off the catch in the mid-range or from deep when given time and space. Thomalla recently brought in two more collegiate offers from within the state of Nebraska. I’m not sure where she is going to end up but she should be productive wherever she goes.

Halsey Thomalla Halsey Thomalla 5'11" | CG/SG Gothenburg | 2026 State NE of Gothenburg High School recently received her first offer to NAIA – Doane to compete following this next Winter season. Like I said, this is Thomalla’s first offer and I don’t understand why. This is a 5’11 SG/CG with a picture perfect shooting stroke from all over the floor. The way that she squares up on the catch, always ready to let it fly is impressive and when you see her form along with it, it makes you wonder where she has been hiding. Gothenburg is a talented squad, that is going to have a lot of potential this Winter. They should make it back to the State Tournament with who they have on hand but it will all come down to their execution.
