Hannah Hewa Hannah Hewa 5'10" | SG/SF Ida B. Wells | 2029 State OR is having a great start to her freshman season for the Guardians at Ida B. Wells. She plays with such intensity and hustle. She gets after it on both ends of the court. With a long wingspan and good height, she’s able to grab rebounds and have a strong presence on the floor.
This week during their game against Benson, she was putting her foot on the gas anytime she stepped foot on the court. She has a great shot from behind the arc and is really great at driving to the hoop. She has a quick first step and knows how to get to the free throw line well. She’s not afraid of contact and as a freshman and already knows how to be a leader vocally.

Five-foot-10 freshman Hanna Hewa is a long guard who pushed the pace, got to the rim, and made perimeter shots at the 3×3 Hoop League. Hewa competed with her Northwest Select squad against upperclassmen on Day 2. She played aggressive on-ball defense and quickly transitioned to offense after securing rebounds. She caught defenses off guard and exploited the advantage, finding the open teammate under the bucket. She knocked down the catch-and-shoot and pull-up from behind the arc. She took the lane on the bounce and got to the rim, drew the foul, or kicked out.

Hewa will play at Ida B. Wells. The varsity team only rostered upperclassmen last season. The Guardians finished one game behind third place in the Portland Interscholastic League, earned an at-large bid to the 6A state playoffs, and lost in the first round to Nelson.
