Marissa Rimbert | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Explosive athlete who really separates with her ability to get off the ground and elevate into a consistent jump shot. Plays with great urgency in transition by sprinting back, reading the floor, and turning defense into offense with steals and interceptions. Offensively, she’s a downhill threat who can collapse defenses and make the right kick-out to create open looks for teammates. Her athleticism makes her difficult to contain, and she’s just as dangerous with the ball in her hands (maybe even faster) flying up and down the court and impacting every possession like a blur.

Pointer grabbed my attention before she played her first middle school game, and her mindset even then told me a lot. I hadn’t seen her in a couple of seasons live, so Clash Of The Clubs was a treat for me, but all I can say is wow on what she has become, as well as more is coming, see evaluations here

Pointer sold me back in 2021 when she was going against older players, and I asked her how she felt about that. Her response was, “This will help determine my destiny.” and right then and there, I knew something see evaluations here Watching how much she has elevated her game since the last time I saw her, had me smiling. Her UPS around the basket to score, her acrobatic finishes off the dribble, her “catch and shoot” from deep were all clicking, but her “on the ball” defense, court vision, and playing the passing lane also stood out

#11 (Up from #14)
Pointer pointed me in the right direction when I first met her, and she told me her expectations on the court; she was in the 5th grade, and more importantly, she showed me, see evaluation here. Fast forward to my catching her “on the court” progression over the years, see evaluations here, she entered high school and set it off where she was among the team leaders in many categories, yet her poise under pressure was noticed as she was named Newcomer Of The Year

#15-Ponter’s game is POINTING upwards and that was solidified after watching her play UP at the Super 64 see evaluation here. Playing up has never been an issue and after chatting with her when I first met her 3 years ago, her telling me how well she performed would determine her destiny SOLD ME She’s heady, stays under control, and understands how to control the tempo. Her court vision across the board was more than solid against players with next-level potential heading into their senior season as pressure was irrelevant. She scored off the dribble and showed some explosiveness attacking the basket yet her “stop and pop” jumper in transition was also nice. She did a good job defending on the ball as well in the set and baseline-to-baseline

Pointer is another player who sold me early and her DESIRE to not only learn stood out when I initially caught her at an Individual Showcase. I have a simple formula when I scout the younger ones and it’s how they react in certain situations as well as being able to do things instinctively so I knew what was coming. She was playing 3 years up and nothing FAZED her as her explosiveness allowed her to get by defenders at will. She gave me an acrobatic finish, she saw the floor and handled the ball under pressure yet she didn’t back down and did a good job defending “on the ball” Her jumper looked good yet her upside is scary, not for me but for defenders
