Lilliana Petersen Lilliana Petersen 6'0" | C Omaha Central | 2024 State NE of Omaha Central High School put together a great high school career, capped off by an impressive Senior Season with the Eagles. Petersen was her team’s presence in the middle of the paint, with the ability to step out and rotate the ball at the perimeter or screen for her fellow teammates. She displayed that she has active hands and feet with a soft touch on the ball, leading to a lot of easy buckets in the middle of the lane for herself. As of most recent, Petersen has committed to Cloud County College. This is a big pick up for CC as Petersen had several offers from the D3 level across the Midwest. If she can take the momentum from this past season and channel it into the upcoming year, she is going to be someone that does really well at the next level.

That has been proven this season with how many offers and how much interest she is receiving from collegiate programs all over the Midwest. Petersen stands at 6’0 and she is physical. She can hold her on in the paint, fight for rebounds and put-backs against alike sizes players, screen and seal to the basket, and she can “wall” up defensively. When you add that all together, you get a producer and that’s what Petersen has been as of recent. This season she has shown her confidence and that has helped her receive interest looking toward her future on the basketball court. Where will she end up? I’m not sure but at this pace, her and her Omaha Central team are going to continue to kill it. They have all the talent and personal, they just need to stay locked in on their goals for the season. When they do that is when they are at their best.

Another player at the Center position out of Nebraska that has some promise to her game is Lilliana Petersen Lilliana Petersen 6'0" | C Omaha Central | 2024 State NE . Petersen stands at around 6’0 FT and is very good using her natural size. She rebounds at a high rate, defends alike sized players well, and can score near the post when her teammates get her the ball in a favorable position. The only thing that Petersen falls victim to is something she can’t control, her competition. At times I would like to see what she could do against other players that have her high size/skill level. The competition she see’s during the regular season of high school ball isn’t always competitive per se. With that being said, Petersen will only worry about what she can control looking into her senior season. She is the type of player that could have another big winter, she just needs to go out and take care of business now.

Lilliana Petersen Lilliana Petersen 6'0" | C Omaha Central | 2024 State NE is one of the most dominate power forwards throughout the state of Nebraska coming into this winter season at Omaha Central high school. Petersen stands at 6 foot and knows her own strength. She is a player that can sit in the post and score on smaller opponents each possession or she can bring the ball out to the three point line and make a good pass to a cutting teammate in their offense for an easy bucket. Defensively she is a game changer. Someone that the opponent has to worry about once they beat their initial defender going to the hoop because if not, it’s going to be a block party for Petersen. As of most recent Petersen has received an offer to play at Southeast CC in Lincoln, NE. I’m not sure if that’s where she will necessarily end up but it’s always good to see offers come in. It means that the players hard work is paying off and the college level can attest to that. It’ll be interesting to see where she goes when it’s all said and done.

Nebraska Hoops Elite put on a show this weekend as a program, throughout all age groups. On the 17U level their presence in the middle and rim protector, Lillian Petersen, did everything that was asked of her at the Legacy Classic for her squad. She played her size, took advantage of smaller opponents, played more physical then everyone else on the floor around her, rebounded the ball at a high rate, and scored a majority of the time when she caught the ball with her back to the basket in the post. There were a lot of impressive 17U centers this weekend and Petersen was easily one of the most impressive. This spring/summer I expect a lot of interest to come her way if she keeps putting together weekends like this one. Her size and skill combined are a very promising combination on the floor.
