“Isabel Carlson of Breakaway 16U has a great feel for the game as a PG. She can handle, she knows when to attack, she can defend her own possession at a steady rate, and she mainly makes great choices when the rock is in her possession. She stays aggressive as she looks to get down hill on offense and she knows how to finish when she gets near the bucket. All in all, great showing this weekend in multiple contests throughout.”

Isabel Carlson had a really solid start to her weekend as her team’s starting PG. She didn’t do too much but just enough, if that makes sense. She got her team in order, she took opportunities when they presented themselves, she played really solid defense, and she didn’t make stupid mistakes down the stretch of any of her team’s contests so far. From a coaching perspective, this is one of those players you’d love to work with. She would be PG #1 in a lot of programs and we saw glimpses of that all day long.

Carlson is one of those players who just enjoys playing the right way. She drives and kicks, spreads the court, and rarely seemed to get nervous when she was getting doubled.

I like the way she runs the show for them at times, she is a strong on ball defender with quick hands and is a heady player. All these kids in this age group have a long way to go to reach the next level, but she’s on her way! She plays for Breakaway.
