About Ivanna
Expert Analysis
Avi Burmenko | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Ivanna is the second top-ranked player nationally in the class of 2027, and after seeing her play it is clear why. She led her team through the playoffs of the Naismith Girls’ High School Tournament with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Extremely strong, she attacks the basket with confidence and uses polished footwork beyond the three-point line to get set before the ball arrives. She draws contact well and defends physically, using her body to make scoring difficult.

Ivanna did what she does posting yet another double-double. She scored 20 points in the win but I was most impressed with her 11 rebounds being as though seven of them were on the offensive glass and they all were contested. She shot 50% from beyond the arc and was perfect from the free-throw line. She also had a game tying high four steals in the route over Elizabeth Seton.

Ivanna is the gold standard for what “elite” looks like in girls’ basketball. She has the rare ability to completely dominate a game on both ends of the floor while never needing to over-possess the ball. Her impact is felt through efficiency, timing, and basketball IQ as much as raw scoring. She finished with 31 points against the Potomac School, and the consensus is that she could score 30 every night if she chose to make that her priority. What separates Ivanna, however, is her unselfishness and her willingness to let the game come to her.
Defensively, she brings consistent high effort, setting the tone with her activity, positioning, and competitiveness. She values stops just as much as buckets, which makes every point she scores feel earned and meaningful. Ivanna’s combination of talent, discipline, and two-way impact places her in a class of her own and defines what elite truly looks like.

Ivanna is a highlight reel when she steps on the court. She elevates and flies over and through defenses. Her first step is long, quick and powerful and she drives with intent. She has the strength to finish with contact, which helped her get to the line repeatedly. When she spots up from the three, her shot is very accurate. Even though she shoots at a high percentage, she doesn’t overuse the three which makes her so hard to prep for.

Ivanna is a complete player with few weaknesses. At 6’2”, she can handle full-court point guard duties under pressure, creating matchup problems for any opponent. Defend her with a smaller guard, and she can dominate in the paint; switch in a bigger defender, and she uses her quick first step and step-back shot to create space and score efficiently.

Without question one of the best players I saw today and the most athletic. Took on a tough IMG Academy team who gave her their best shot but couldn’t quite contain her. She remained poised through pressure and fought out of the double; effortless basketball at its finest. High flying rebounding and elite 3-level scoring.

Ivanna’s D1 size and skill set was clear. She set the tone early by knocking down a spot up three. She quickly became Bullis’ premier scorer, showing the ability to be a multi level scorer. Her offensive game displayed high level college potential. She is a defensive nightmare starting at the top of the key. Her height allows her to see the court. She has the ability to make in-game adjustments. If you give her space, she will shoot over you. Crowd her, then her length, strength, and ball handling can get her to the basket in three dribbles. Ivanna’s entire game finished with 26 points.

Ivanna started the action off with a three. Her crossover dribble incited fear to as you could see the the defender start to retreat as she began her windup. She was knocking down threes and abusing defenders in the lane. She finished the game with 26 points and almost every play being a highlight real and only two free-throws on three point plays.

Ivanna put on an aerial acrobatics show, flying through and over defenders as she sliced through the lane. Her game is steadily improving as she was once relied on tough angle finishes, she is now getting to the rim to the rim with purpose. She not just capable of making threes but is now a legitimate three point threat who forces defenders to stretch farther away from the lane than they would like to.
She had one play where she executed a crossover that froze four defenders, followed by an explosive drive through the lane for a tomahawk style layup. She is a generational talent with a one of one skillset.

Ivanna delivered a commanding performance showing exactly why she’s regarded as one of the elite guards in the country. Defensively, she was relentless applying full-court pressure, disrupting passing lanes, and making life miserable for opposing ball handlers. Her defensive motor never stopped, setting the tone for her team with consistent on-ball harassment. On the offensive end, she was just as impressive. She knocked down perimeter shots with confidence, including multiple threes, and attacked the basket with strength and control. Her ability to score at all three levels, combined with her defensive intensity, makes her a two-way force and a foundational piece in any backcourt.
