Izzie Carlton Izzie Carlton 6'2" | PF/C Mercer County | 2027 State KY is another post prospect in the 2027 class that college coaches should be after. A strong paint scorer, rebounder, and rim protector, she led Mercer County with 18.5 points and 12.8 rebounds per game. She earned Second Team All-Region honors, joined the 1,000-point club, and set the school’s single-season rebounding record.

Izzie Carlton Izzie Carlton 6'2" | PF/C Mercer County | 2027 State KY is already a 1000 point scorer with 750 career rebounds and she is just getting started. She is averaging 19.7 points per game along with an eye popping 12.9 rebounds per contest. That is dominant production.

Her physical presence, touch around the rim, and relentless rebounding make her one of the toughest matchups in the 12th Region. Izzie looks like the next in line from Mercer County to take her game to the college level.

Izzie put her team on her back in the 2A Section 5 Tournament, totaling 23 points and 19 rebounds in a win over Franklin County, then following it up with a game-high 31 points and 15 rebounds against Garrard County. Her dominant play helped Mercer County advance to the 2A State Championship game, which will take place on Friday.

Mercer County was probably the youngest team in the KHSAA last season. Izzie, as a Sophomore, was the oldest player in the top 9 of the rotation and there was only one Junior and one Senior on the roster. Carlton led the Lady Titans in scoring and rebounding and had to get most of her buckets with 2 or 3 opposing players draped all over her. This season should provide Izzie with more opportunities as her supporting class should all be older, stronger and smarter when the season gets here. Coach Souder is a Mercer County legend and he can rely on Carlton to help get the Lady Titans and their youth movement back to the top of the 12th region.

She was the 3rd leading scorer (11.1 PPG) and the teams leading rebounder (8.6 RPG) as a freshman. Izzie has a lot of length and moves well for her size. She is a remarkable rebounder, scores at a high percentage in the paint, is capable of putting up a double-double each game. I see a lot of potential in Izzie and I think she will continue to blossom as a player.
