About Jace

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Comfortable in both transition and half court sets. Excellent 3-point shooter off the catch and dribble. Good mid-range game and improving finishing in the paint. Long and athletic defender, able to effectively guard on the perimeter as well as protect the paint and rebound.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Calm and collected with a high basketball IQ. Ability to create opportunities individually as well as for teammates. Great on-floor communicator. Not easily rattled and can play through adversity.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a multi-sport athlete. Aside from basketball I also enjoy volleyball and track. Participating in these sports help me develop skills I might otherwise miss, and also help me to learn how to manage time and prioritize.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I feel that I’ve developed resilience, confidence, and self-awareness. These skills allow me work identify both strengths and weaknesses, the ability to respond to adversity in a positive way, and also to be aware of others around me and their needs. As a teammate, I understand my actions and attitude directly impact those around me, and I try hard to be a positive influence.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Before my 8th grade season I moved from Utah to Georgia. I had to enter new schools and sports programs and rebuild personal relationships. I was forced to step outside my comfort zone and rely on new skills in order to be successful.

What type of college are you looking for?

Looking for a good academic school to eventually pursue a Master’s or Doctorate. I want a basketball program with a great team culture emphasizing close relationships with a focus on competing.

The long guard is good at getting to her pull-up jumper. Jace shoots over smaller defenders off the bounce and will turn the corner to draw fouls downhill. She has good range on her three-point shot and is becoming an all-around impact maker with her improved defense. Sanderson collected 13 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks in a 46-42 OT win against Rabun County.
