was aggressive with her ball handling pushing it up the court and making the most of her moves. She played aggressive defense, too, stripping the ball from her opponents and pushing it to the other end making some points on a fast break. She used her shot fakes well creating her own space and making it count. She did a nice job following shots on defense to grab the rebound.

Duncan will not have far to go to get to this year’s Expo given Rock Hill is only a short drive up a couple interstates from Cabarrus County. With three seniors having graduated from the 2023-24 3A Vikings rendition, Duncan will definitely be the focal point of many things Central for 2024-25 and 2025-26 (when NCHSAA realignment commences). Defense is one of the hallmarks of her game as she never takes a play off on that end of the floor. Look for her to hustle for many a loose ball. Offensively, she has no problems drawing contact and getting to the free throw line.

Jahnae will be the clear leader for Central Cabarrus next season as the team will lose it’s star Kyra Lewis to graduation. She will be up for the challenge. Jahnae has shown that she knows how to control the tempo of the game and take over the offense when she is needed to do so. She is a powerful guard who you never have to question her level of effort. She will defend as if her life depends on it and she will dive after every loose ball. She attacks the rim hard and she uses her body well when she drives to the basket. She is very strong and can absorb contact on the way to the free throw line. She is certainly deserving of a lot more attention on the recruitment trail and she could be a good fit for the right program.

Jahnae finished with 6 points in Friday night’s win, however, the points don’t truly quantify who she is a player Jahnae does a great job as the team’s primary PG, setting the table in which everybody eats from. She makes the right pass, to the right player at the right time. It’s easy to see where the ball should go as a spectator. It’s much more difficult to see it when there are two defenders with their hands in your face. Jahnae has a strong ability to see her teammates before they are open and makes the necessary adjustments to make sure that they get the ball. She has a lot of quickness and knows how to beat her defenders off the dribble and draw defenders in. She is a good decision maker with ball in her hands and knows how to control the pace of a game. Very strong game from this sophomore.
