Bowling had a nice overall game against Team Northeast on both ends of the floor, but it’s her size and skill at the wing position that have colleges interested in her. She didn’t waste anytime when she got the basketball or dribbles attacking her defender off the bounce. Kailen caught the ball on the left wing one play, put her head down, and got to the opposite elbow before pulling up quickly and knocking down the shot. On a kick a few plays later, Bowling let her defender rush out and then blew by her going to the basket, taking a big bump by another defender, and knocked down a tough running one hander. She is a legit three level scorer who, because of her size and physicality, can guard four positions on defense. She currently holds offers from Oral Roberts, Northern Illinois, and Bellarmine with several others watching and close to offering to her head coach TJ Perry.

Her athleticism and length allow her to impact the game on both ends, particularly in transition and defensive situations. Bowling has the ability to guard multiple positions while also creating matchup problems offensively with her size on the wing.

She continues developing into a more complete offensive player, showing flashes of scoring ability attacking downhill and finishing at the basket. Her energy and activity level stand out consistently, especially when Brebeuf speeds the game up. June ball should be an excellent opportunity for Bowling to continue expanding her confidence offensively while proving she can be a major two-way contributor against high-level competition. Her upside makes her a player to watch closely this summer.

Jailen dealt with some injury issues earlier in her high school career, and last Summer I felt like she was still getting back to her old self. This Spring, she looks much more explosive, more active, and she is changing directions a lot better. She is able to use her incredible length and understanding of the game to trap effectively and create turnovers defensively, plus she can defend multiple positions. Offensively, she has always been solid with the ball in her hands, like a point forward, she glides to the basket fairly easily, but she can also knock down a rhythm 3-pointer consistently.
