is a game-changing presence in the paint with elite size at 6’2” and the ability to control both ends of the floor. She’s not just big—she’s productive, averaging 27.3 PPG, which puts her among the most dominant scorers in Class 1A.
Her impact starts inside. Douglas uses her length and physicality to establish position early, finish through contact, and dominate the glass. She’s a consistent double-double threat who creates extra possessions and punishes teams that can’t match her size.
Offensively, she’s a high-efficiency scorer around the rim, showing touch, strength, and the ability to convert under pressure. She plays with confidence and isn’t afraid to take over when her team needs buckets.
Defensively, she brings rim protection and interior control, altering shots and forcing opponents to adjust their entire game plan. Her presence alone changes how teams attack the paint.
Coming out of Plain Dealing, Douglas has proven she can carry a heavy load and produce at a high level, making her one of the most impactful forwards in the state for her class.
With continued development—especially expanding her face-up game and mobility—she projects as a next-level post/forward with serious upside.
Paint Beast. High-Level Producer. Double-Double Machine.

Jakayla Douglass continues to impress as a dominant interior post. She has posted multiple monster double-doubles this season, including a 40-point, 20-rebound performance. At 6’3, she shows a soft touch around the rim and can knock down the short jumper. Defensively, she impacts the game by blocking and altering shots in the paint. With continued development, Douglass stock will continue to rise.

performed admirably against a formidable opponent in the paint. While her scoring was not at its peak, she still contributed effectively. She scored 3 points in the first quarter, 4 points in the second quarter, and 2 points in both the third and fourth quarters, accumulating a total of 11 points for the night. She also made 1 out of 2 free throws. This particular evening was not her strongest performance; typically, she exhibits a more dominant presence in games. However, the Lady Kats displayed superior play on this occasion. In her recent games, Jakayla has consistently scored over 20 points, including an impressive 44 points against Calvary. She is undoubtedly a transformative player, but on this night, she was simply outmaneuvered by a stronger defensive effort.

, a 6’2″ center from Plain Dealing High School’s Lady Lions class of 2027, really showed out this weekend. She’s super tall, so she stood out among most players at the jamboree. Right away, during warmups, you could see her leadership skills as she cheered on her teammates before the game started. For someone her size, Jakayla can totally handle the ball and bring it up the court if she needs to. She can score from anywhere on the floor, but she really shines in the paint. Jakayla even hit a 3-point buzzer-beater to end the half, so she’s awesome under pressure. She was such a threat on offense that she was always double-teamed, but that didn’t stop her from getting to work. She’s got great footwork and passing skills for a big player. On defense, she’s just as impressive, blocking shots, grabbing rebounds, and creating second chances. She’s also great at talking to her teammates and directing them. Jakayla is a strong, physical player you definitely need to watch out for – super impressive!

Douglas is one of the top players in Louisiana, and she was also one of the top players at the Showcase and showed it in the first few plays of the day see evaluation here. One more time, “long and athletic” and a couple of inches above “the magic number” and seeing her not only rebound on both ends, but understand how to get the break going with the outlet, or just starting it herself by handling the ball after grabbing it off the rim, spoke volumes. Her court vision looked good, she scored around the basket, dropped the jumper, and scored off the dribble, plus her blocking shots and defending were solid as well

Douglas crossed the state line from Louisiana for a reason, and she immediately showed why she’s considered a top 5 power forward in the state. She’s “long and athletic” which is the base, and she stands above “the magic number” of 6’0. The magic really began on the court as I loved her skillset, “hands and footwork” to score, kept the ball high, and showed good timing to block shots, yet her defense and playing the passing lane also stood out

Douglas is a hidden gem in the state due to her size, athleticism and obvious upside. I have watched her score 30 points and add 15+ rebounds in a single game and she is just scratching the surface on her potential. She is a must watch prospect as her intangibles and production are undeniable. She is one of only a few players that stretch past the 6’2 height mark and just has the look of the ball player. Plain Dealing has a lot of talent and their new young Coach shows up with pedigree and vigor which could make them a tough school and a contender moving forward.
