Janiyah Quiller is an aggressive guard who constantly attacks the middle of the floor and finishes through contact, regardless of her size. She plays with toughness and determination, creating opportunities by forcing jump balls and competing for every possession. Quiller runs the floor hard in transition, bringing energy on both end of the court and making hustle plays the positively impact the game.

She competes with a high motor and never back down form bigger opponents. Defensively, she applies pressure, stays active and uses her effort to disrupt the opposing team’s rhythm. Her relentless approach, competitive mindset and willingness to do the little things maker her a valuable asset to any team.

Janiyah Quiller Janiyah Quiller 5'4" | PG Evans | 2028 State GA was causing a lot of disruptions on defense getting in the way of her opponents.  She even crashed the boards getting inside for rebounds, and she attacked the basket being aggressive getting some points for her team.  She was a big asset late in the game attacking the basket and drawing fouls or coming up with steals scoring off of these turnovers herself.

The Knights of 5A Evans are well-represented on this year’s Overlooked Skills Academy team. She led an offensive onslaught that overwhelmed Team USC Lady Fusion with 11 points. Quiller displays her toughness with her willingness to draw contact and find her way to the free throw line. One can place her in a team’s lineup either at the point or as a two guard. Rebounding and ball distribution are two other strong points of Quiller’s game. She played in all 27 games last season for an Evans team that finished with a solid 21-6 record and averaged 15 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.2 steals and 3.8 assists. 

Quiller had an outstanding sophomore season for Evans averaging 15 points, 7 rebounds, 5 steals and four assist per game (including seven double-doubles) for Evans while winning Region 1 5-A Player of the Year. She, along with Kimariya Hinton Kimariya Hinton 6'0" | PF Evans | 2027 GA , led Evans to a 21-6 record, including going 8-1 and finishing second in their region. Hinton, who averaged 10.8 points and 10.7 rebounds per game, is also deserving of a mention in this article as the senior finished as Region 1 5-A Offensive Player of the Year. Hinton will have a chance to be a good player in the right program on the next level. Her decision will come sooner rather than later, while Quiller has two more years to continue to add superlatives and accomplishments to her high school career before making her college decision.

An opposing team’s fortunes are anything but tranquil when Quiller is making plays for her team. Quiller has spent time on the junior varsity circuit at Evans and her play is certainly more than worthy of the call up that she received to the big 5A Knights squad – a squad that finished 24-4 in 2024-25 in large part thanks to Quiller’s play. One reason for this is Quiller understands that effective defense can lead to playmaking on the offensive end. She can placed into a team’s starting five as either a one or a two guard in the backcourt. A multi-talented southpaw, she made appearance at the Prep Girls Hoops Sophomore ID Camp. 

Quiller is a playmaker that knows how to score from anywhere on the floor. A player that has the skill set to take over a game. Rebounds well for her size and knows how to facilitate and score.

Quiller’s defensive motor fuels her offensive production. She thrives in transition, using her quick hands and instincts to force turnovers and push the tempo. A natural lefty, she’s most comfortable getting downhill but can also knock down threes in halfcourt sets. She competes hard on both ends, finishing through contact and crashing the glass. Quiller consistently impacts the game across multiple categories.
