About Janna

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I grew up playing post and have good post moves with either hand, but was asked to play point guard for my varsity team as a freshman. I have been described as long, versatile, and cerebral. I can both score inside and shoot the 3 but I also work hard on the other end of the floor and can guard any position. I was named Special Mention All-Ohio as a freshman and averaged 13.5 points per game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Sportsmanship is important to me, so I try to be kind on and off the floor. I am also competitive and give my all when I play.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I enjoy youth group and Young Life and help lead music at my church. I have straight As and I was named to our school’s honor roll. I was named first team All-Conference in soccer as a freshman.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have always tried to be a leader on my teams and am learning how to help lead my school team as a freshman.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Having knee surgery in sixth grade and coming back from a six-month recovery. I was able to learn to trust my knee again and came back to help my middle school team go undefeated in both 7th and 8th grades.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to play college basketball at the highest level possible. My parents both attended a Christian university, and I am interested in that possibility also.

Good floor leader, really like her court vision and can distribute for a better shot. Extremely hard worker and able to make her team better. Ready for a big year from Janna!
