Another Division I offer has found its way to Cunningham as the Her Elite and 4A South Pointe star has fielded one from Ivy League school Penn. She adds this offer to others she received from Wake Forest, Kennesaw State, George Washington and Alabama since the high school season concluded. What a banner season it was for Cunningham as she not only guided the Stallions to another 4A Upper State championship but became South Pointe’s all-time leading scorer – for either the girls or boys’ programs. Cunningham averaged a double-double of 20.5 points and 11.5 rebounds plus 2.7 steals per contest in 2025-26.

Cunningham is continuing to field Division I offers and one can guess that will continue to be the case until she decides where she will play collegiately. Her latest offer was courtesy of Wake Forest. One can see why Megan Gebbia is interested in having Cunningham sport black and gold Demon Deacons threads. Cunningham played in 29 games this past season for a South Pointe team that reached another 4A Upper State championship. She also averaged a double-double of 20.5 points and 11.5 rebounds and is the Stallions’ all-time leading points scorer for either girls or boys basketball. It was great watching G-Money play again up close and in personal for an extended period of games. I first saw her actually coaching against with John McGraw with Southeast United when she was with FBC . At an early age she was bigger and stronger than everyone else and did not have to rely on much skill to dominate games against kids her age. Seeing where her game has grown from that point really made me happy and it was great speaking with her about it at the event. She is a wonderful young lady who is soft spoken and kind off the court, whenever she steps in between the lines Ja’Nyia is a completely different young lady as she was a force to be reckoned with for opposing teams all weekend long. The touch and skill to go along with excellent footwork at the rim was impressive as was her ability to step out to the perimeter, face up, and knock down shots from both the midrange and behind the three point line. When defenders closed out under control, she attacked the basket under control and with authority slashing to the rim and scoring. She is very skilled player who will be effective inside and out on the division one level in college. When I asked her is she had a timetable for decision, she told my before the new year.
