Confidence and consistency are not always attributes seen in younger players. Rowan is not one’s typical 2030. She displays consistent ability to attack the rim that opposing defenses have very little answers for in addition to being an efficient runner of the floor. Rowan also understands the correct times to attack and the correct times to try and score – which she can also do from range. The former Palmetto 76ers product recently made AAU-related news as it was announced she will run with AEBL Girlz for her 2027 grassroots campaign. After playing in 28 games as an eighth grader and averaging nine points, 2.1 steals, 1.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists last season, Rowan looks to continue her stellar play which should have South Pointe as a state contender once again in 4A throughout 2026-27.

Rowan is a name that has established a robust profile not only because of her play – but the team she plays for. South Pointe has been firmly in the 4A state contenders’ chat the last several seasons and that is sure to be the case once again for the Stallions in 2026-27. A Palmetto 76ers product, Rowan competed in 28 contests last season for South Pointe and averaged nine points, 2.1 steals and 1.8 assists per game. She found solid footing as the only eighth grader on last season’s South Pointe team. Rowan is one of several Stallions that earned invites to this year’s SCBCA Elite Camp.

Jaelyn has a nice pull-up jumper from mid-range and uses her length and athleticism well around the basket. She does a good job extending the ball away from her body to protect it from shot blockers and also has a nice floater once she gets into the paint. Defensively, Jaelyn has quick hands and can poke the ball away to turn defense into offense.

Jaelyn is a basketball and track star and that becomes evident very quickly when you watch her play. She uses her endurance and speed to play an up-tempo style of game. She has a motor that keep turning and allows her to accelerate past the defenders especially in transition. When the opposing team tries to stop her and sets everybody back in the paint to wait on her attack she will stop and pop a smooth looking three-point shot.

Rowan is another Palmetto 76ers/A’ja Wilson Elite prospect. Last season was her first at the varsity level with 4A South Pointe and she would play in 28 games this past season with the Stallions. Rowan averaged nine points and 2.1 steals for a South Pointe team that finished 26-3, won its region by going a perfect 12-0 and earned another berth to the Upper State championship game. Rowan was the only eighth grader on last season’s Stallions team. She took part in Nike EYBL Session 2 in New Orleans during the month’s live period and averaged 10 points per game at the Big Shots Rock Hill Memorial Classic.

Any conversation about the top 2030s in South Carolina ought to include Rowan. Her eighth-grade season saw her help the Stallions of 4A South Pointe to an Upper State championship appearance. Rowan stands at 5-foot-8 and possesses plenty of length which can especially prove worthwhile on the defensive end. She also has a great deal of speed and quickness which can display itself when she attacks the rim. A 3-point shot is also part of her overall offensive repertoire. Rowan played in 28 games last season for South Pointe and averaged nine points and 2.1 steals a contest.

Jaelyn is a guard with explosiveness and speed. She does an excellent job of running the floor in transition and getting easy layups. When she has the ball in her hands, she is really tough to guard in the open court. Rowan is also a knock down shooter from beyond the arc. Both games I attended this season she hit four or more three pointers. Her silky smoothness makes it look easy!

Stellar backcourt play is a major reason why 4A South Pointe is one of the teams to beat in that classification. As evidenced by the Stallions’ blowout victory over Wren in the second round of the 4A state tournament, that will continue to be the case. Rowan – an eighth grader – concluded her contest against the Hurricanes with 21 points en route to an 84-38 victory. In the 26 games that Rowan has played for South Pointe, she has averaged 9.1 points and 2.1 steals per game. Up next for Rowan and her Stallions – who still have yet to drop a contest against an in-state foe – is a 4A Upper State semifinal clash on Monday at Daniel.
